I recently rejoined the Hekimi lab to use genetic and RNAi screens to identify new genetic pathways regulating aging and to develop new tools for monitoring the aging process.

Research Associate

ying.wang10@mcgill.ca

My research projects are centered around the requirements of mitochondrial function for the lipid ubiquinone (Coenzyme Q), the pathophysiology of ubiquinone deficiency as well as the biological consequences of the resulting mitochondrial dysfunction.

I am exploring the mechanisms of acclimation and how they impinge on aging by developing and conducting new genetic screens using the roundworm C. elegans.

Yifan Tai

Graduate Student

yifan.tai@mail.mcgill.ca

I am conducting genetic screens in S. cerevisiae to identify genes involved in temperature acclimation. By studying yeast mutants, I aim to understand the mechanisms of acclimation and their conservation in other organisms.

Han Sun

Research Trainee

My research focuses on temperature acclimation and aims to identify genes and pathways required for normal acclimation using C. elegans as a model organism.
